Design & Build
Custom made wardrobes are the epitome of luxury and a solution to any messy clothing storage problem. A great design will consider a home for everything, so everything has its place. This is key in any room to staying organised and tidy.
We design everything from simple and understated to award winning show stoppers. Finding a balance between what’s on show and what is hidden, hanging versus folded and illuminating your wears with integrated lighting is our specialty. Incorporating additional storage solutions like drawers and shelving is essential to maximise functionality and organisation. Our designer will take the time to understand your storage needs to create a considered space that is bespoke, aesthetic and functional.
Assessing Your Needs
When it comes to renovating your wardrobe, the first step is to assess your needs to create a functional and organised space. Start by envisioning how you want to use your wardrobe space. Think about what you need to store, display, and access daily. Consider your lifestyle, habits, and preferences to determine the best layout and design for your wardrobe.
Take inventory of your belongings, including clothes, shoes, accessories, and storage containers. Measure your current wardrobe space to understand its maximum potential for storage and organisation. Identify any challenges or limitations, such as narrow corridors or low ceilings, that might affect your design choices.
By thoroughly assessing your needs, you can create a clear vision for your dream wardrobe.

Wardrobe Design and Inspiration
The possibilities for your robe design are infinite and are only limited by space, budget and your and our designer’s imagination. Custom wardrobes can be built in niches or walk in rooms, housing everything from clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, and jewellery. Companies like Häfele offer clever systems to elevate your design such as designated trouser racks and sectioning caddies for smaller items that need organising. Often, we install LED strip lighting in walk in robes, recessed in the gables or under shelves. This illuminates your clothes and screams opulence. Wardrobe Finishes and Storage Solutions
Storage and organisation are essential components of a functional and efficient wardrobe. Here are some tips to help you create a well-organised storage system:
- Use Storage Containers: Use baskets, bins, or drawers to store items like socks, underwear, or accessories.
- Install Shelves: Install shelves or storage units to store items like folded clothes, bags, or shoes.
- Utilise Drawers: Use drawers to store items like clothes, accessories, or personal items.
By creating a well-organised storage system, you can reduce clutter, save time, and make the most of your wardrobe space, ensuring that everything is easily accessible and neatly stored.

Lighting
Lighting is an optional but extremely impressive in a robe design
- LED Strip Lighting
- LED Down Lights
- Pendant/ Feature Lighting
This is often an overlooked part of a robe design, and you can completely change and elevate your design when you incorporate lighting into the space. Back lit full length mirrors and recessed LED strip lighting will illuminate and add dimension. Being creative but showing restraint is the perfect formula for a showstopping design.
Feature pendant lights can be quite spectacular if you have the room to hold a hero piece in the room. Your interior designer will guide you through these choices if this is something you want to explore.
Doors
From built-in to walk-in, doors play an important part of the overall aesthetic of your robe.
- Sliding
- Swing
- Barn
- Mirrored
- Bifold
Depending on the type of robe, doors will either cover an entire unit or will be section specific. For a walk-in robe, the entry to the space may also require door consideration if you’re not opting for a plaster opening.
Walk in robes give you a great range of choice by being able to door off some sections whilst leaving some open or even having drawers.
Internals
Wardrobe organisation is extremely important for a tidy space, when everything has a considered place it’s far easier to return it to its home.
- Drawer organisers
- Pants hanging racks
- Tie racks
- Small area hanging options
- Jewellery dividers
- Glass fronted drawers
- Shoe racks
- Pull down hanging racks
A well fit-out wardrobe is the epitome of luxury and can be the envy of your friends and family. Bragging rights aside, most of these solutions provide a very practical way of keeping your clothes and accessories in good condition due to the careful consideration of how they are stored.
